Agape House is currently seeking Casual Shelter Support Workers.  The casual Shelter Support Worker is an entry level position at Agape house and hourly wages range from $15.68 to $18.90, dependent on qualifications and experience. Casual workers are typically not scheduled for regular hours, but will work on a call-in basis.

Shelter Support Workers work directly with residential clients (women and children) and must be able to provide the following credentials: child and adult abuse registry clearance, clear criminal records check including vulnerable sector, and must have been living free from abuse and violence for at least two years.  A bachelors degree in Social Work or other social sciences education is preferred but not required. Minimum educational requirement is grade 12 plus a Certificate in Applied Counselling. Other education and experience may be considered (i.e., nursing, nurses’ aide).  Experience working with women and children in crisis environment and/or support environments is a valuable asset.  Agape House is a diverse, inclusive, non-partisan, secular organization, and is primarily funded by the Province of Manitoba Family Violence Prevention Program.
