White Ribbon Campaign – November 22nd, 2017

The White Ribbon Campaign is the world’s largest movement of men and boys working to end gender-based violence. Men and boys are asked to wear white ribbons as a pledge to never commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women and girls.

The White Ribbon Campaign came about as a direct result of the December 6th, 1989 mass shooting at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, in which 14 women were shot and killed by a lone gunman, simply because they were women.

Agape House has been sponsored by Dowalt Custom Homes to attend the Steinbach Piston’s hockey game on November 22nd, 2017 where they will be  handing out white ribbons to all men and boys present.  Our goal is to bring awareness to the issue of gender-based violence and involve men and boys in the fight against violence.

We hope you will take the pledge and proudly wear the white ribbon.

“I promise never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence towards women”
